Delegates will take part in a minimum of three role play scenarios in a purpose-built simulator which replicates the main features of a delegate's own installation.
Objectives

- Meet OPITO standards for OIM controlling emergencies
- Successfully pass a minimum of three scenarios undertaken during the OPITO assessment

Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs) and other senior staff.
Prerequisites
In order to complete an OPITO Offshore Installation (OIM) Controlling Emergencies Competence Assessment delegates must have a formal declaration from an employer confirming they have:
- Achieved the performance criteria in Element 1.1 in the workplace
- Satisfied the core essential knowledge and asset type knowledge requirements
- Been deemed ready for formal assessment against Elements 1.2 and 1.6 before attending
Award
An OPITO-approved certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the OPITO Offshore Installation (OIM) Controlling Emergencies Competence Assessment.
Revalidation
There is no expiry period for this certificate.
